JANUARY 2026

Carlton and United Brew House Tour

                 Date Thursday 15th January 2026   11.30am

Carlton and United Tour of the Factory in Abbotsford on the 15th January are currently being attended by 14 Alcoholics. We will travel by Train to Box Hill and then Tram to Abbottsford so a very stress-free way of travelling and no chance of being over .05 on way back.

Cost is $35 with option of having lunch in the Brew House next door so if any Alcoholics would like to join us please contact me and I will sign you up

Amazon Tour  – Date TBA

This Tour is a little harder to organise as we are limited to 25 people so at this stage the First 25 people on the list will get first option as I don’t have any other way of making it fair. The Tour takes about 60-90 min and involves walking approximately 1-2km and does mean walking up some stairs at certain points. We will go by Bus which at this stage will cost $35 and anticipate organising lunch after the Tour. If anyone who has put their name down for the Tour and the above information has changed their mind, please contact me.

I will look to finalise our numbers at the February meeting and if we have well over the 25 wishing to go then I will look to organise another day to take a second Tour

If anyone has any ideas of possible Industry Tours they have heard about, please contact me with details

PAST TOURS

Healey Factory Tour – Wednesday evening 30th October 2019

The Healey Factory tour was attended by 33 and was a great event and enjoyed by all.

Director Rob Rowland and his team – Andrew, Chris and Peter did a fantastic job of showing and explaining the work and processes involved in restoring these classic old vehicles.

This Classic Car facility does full restorations on all sorts of Classic and Collectable vehicles. I have passed on the Clubs appreciation to Rob and his team who all showed their dedication.

Telstra Museum Tour – Wednesday 3rd and 10th April 2019

This tour was well attend  over the  2 days – with 41 folk (both ladies and gents) enjoying a very interesting tour and “a walk down memory lane” with the numerous past models of the telephone and the system that connects us all, across the world.

(A few former Telstra employees in our group had lots of questions and reflections !)  How things have changed over the years!

Thank you to all who joined us, and I trust you enjoyed the tour also – and thanks for the positive feedback. (See the 2 photos attached).
